The 230K For Rangers Ultra marathon started on my 65th Birthday. In the shadow of Mount Kenya, we ran through multiple conservancies teeming with East Africa’s iconic wildlife while supporting the brave rangers.

We have gone over our compulsory kit list about five times and been trying out all the various vegan freeze-dried foods available, settling on the ones we will pack.

It is now the middle of May, and suddenly it is under four months until the 230 kilometres For Rangers Ultra in Kenya starting on September 1st.

Kevin and myself are excited! But we are also slightly nervous, as we realised yesterday that we have just six months to get super fit for the For Rangers Ultra - a 230km run through the conservancies in Kenya to raise money for the wonderful rangers that protect the rhinos and elephants. It seemed only yesterday we were saying we have still got over a year!
